Corsa B losing power/engine warning light

Post by niall_coyle »

Hi, I'm driving a T reg Corsa B 1.2, 16V.
first of all, my car doesn't start well, and I have to put around 4000 revs through before I can pull off without being really jumpy. Then, when I'm driving uphill my engine loses power and the engine warning light comes on, this light doesn't go off until i take myself out of gear. This also happens when accelerating from 60 to 70. Also, the engine warning light started to come on only recently when I was stopped at traffic lights with no revs going through the engine.
Any help would be really appreciated, sorry If theres another thread on here with help for this that I've missed.
Thank you in advance!

Not sure about the fault but you can find out why your engine management light is on by doing your own diagnostic see the links below
http://www.allcorsa.co.uk/forums/showth ... -8479.html
more information here:
http://www.topbuzz.co.uk/info/fault_cod ... _codes.htm

post the codes or a video of the light flashing and I will see if I can help

ine does it aswell on my 1.6 but the enigne light stays on permintly. took it garage and they have told me its the egr valve stuck open.
£140 plus vat for a new valve and fitting.
u might be able get to it on the 1.2 but in the 1.6 there just isnt room do it yourself.

Right, Been to the garage and plugged in the diagnostics..
lambda sensor and the idle reg valve, high and low voltage.
He thinks its more than likely teh idle reg valve causing it, have to wait till after the works done to find out if its sorted!!
