Yeh i think thats the most sensible thing - get the cat checked - see if it looks damaged/rusted and if possible start it up and run it whilst ur under it too see if its leaking. Having sed that tho - u though about the oil? Before i changed my oil my car was struggling at under about 2200 revs but now it can pull easily from 1800. Its just a suggestion - i aint no mechanic m8. Also, i know u probably wont want to do this but u could get it checked by a garage - my local HiQ will check for a problem and tell u what is wrong for free, after that if its simple you can do it uself

well like you mentioned, your best to check your air, fuel ,spark ...if they are all ok ,ie , good plugs, leads, distibutor, no blockages in the air intake , and your injector is working ( and fuel pump) then thats the basics done ...is the engine getting very hot (even whilst driving does it over heat?)?? this could indicate a very lean air to fuel mixture.......also have you been getting any small misfires at all ??? if you have, it could mean that your injector is sending fuel into your chamber yet not igniting it ..meaning you will get raw fuel being sent to your cat ....and gradually this will cause the cat to fail and block up ......so at low revs whilst the car is not pushing much exhaust gas out there is exessive pressure between the cat and the engine ...yet the flow manages to flow better once the car is at high revs ....drive the car slowly in 1st gear and see if there is any hinderance through the rev range...this could mean a misfire......so check the cat buddy !!!! ...erm and like matey said ..change your oil etc and give it a good service..... also check your throttle body is operating properly !!! check fuel pump 2 :) ...hope some of this info helps ya fella !!!! :)

it may sound a bit mad but wip your exhaust off from just before the cat and go for a short drive sounds like the cats blocked to me alot like my astra was when it went all funny

i tried that earlier but had no joy, basically i know its not the cat now.did have it working but then it broke again..we have eliminated alot of things now and have figured its gotta be electrical...the wire going to the lambda sensor was dodgy so connected it up,and that seemed to cure it,but when i checked it after it broke again it seemed it was lose...gonna reconnect my cat,and make sure the lambda sensor is 100% connected properly and see what happens..

wheres all the corsa experts? chrex?paul?adam??
