Shaking Startup

hey,
my 2000 reg 1.0 12v Envoy was working fine up until about 2 weeks ago, I noticed when I was starting the car the battery light would flicker and the car would shudder. So about a week later the car wouldn't start so I bought a new battery. The car was working perfect up until friday night. When the battery light started flickering when I started the car and the shudder returned. I also noticed that when i'm sitting at the traffic lights the car has started shaking.

Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be Before I take it to a garage and get ripped off lol

mwe and my mate both have 1.0 12v's and ours shake at lights too, i think it might be cos its only 3 cylinder but im not sure

sounds like alternator nacked go get one from scrappy cost ya bout 15 quid problem solved

Yeh it could be the alternator. Also as the second poster sed the 1.0 litres have terrible shaking problems cuz of only having 3 cyclinders so its not 2 bad. Also have you took the car on a long run recently? Maybe the alternator is ok but it just hasn't had enouigh time to fully charge the battery yet. Just a thought

Never actually took my corsa a long run just 4-5 miles to and from work, the whole shuddering at startup has seemed to have stopped. I'm going up to aberdeen in two weeks so I will get the car checked over before I go.
