Hi every1. I was thinking of maybe upgrading my speakers soon - sub amp 6x9s etc but i don't really want to spend 60 quid plus on a HU. The only thing i ever want to listen to in my car is my ipod so i was wondering whether i could wire a cable directly to my amp and just control the volume from the gain on the amp and the ipod volume. Ive read that some guy did it in an old chevy malibu but i dunno if it wud work in a corsa and how it would sound?
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Hard wiring ipod to amp?
If your head unit supports a CD changer then you can take advantge of the CD changer input socket and buy an adapter cable.

Re: Hard wiring ipod to amp?
Thanks i didn't know that - pretty kwl. The thing is though ive just got the standard stereo and if i was gonna upgrade id spend the little extra than the cd multichanger ones and just get an ipod input one. And i know HUs aint that much, but its still an extra 60 - 70 quid to find which i wud prefer to spend on getting better speakers. I can see your point though about it just being easier

Re: Hard wiring ipod to amp?
Without a decent head unit your speakers would still sound poo anyway.
Trust me, spend the cash and get a decent one.
