power cap ratings best size for amps

hi iv just bouught son his first car, i dont know much about car electrics but sons got a 1600watt amp for it,
the neighbours are going to be happy
was just wondering whats best size of power cap for this or is there any perticular rule for these as iv seen various sizes or is it a case of just any size will do ???, is bigger better, is there a limit as what size would be fully charged, if someone could explain this for me it would be appreciated

u shldnt need a power cap tbh it all depends if it drains the battery too much so tht other electrical systems dnt work. wait till its dark and go out and power the amp and put the headlights on and if they dim you will need a power cap.
as for sizes the bigger the cap the more it will hold but you should only need a 1.5-2 farad cap

From what i can remember for every 400w you have you need 0.5 farad power cap. So working on that for your 1600w amp you would need a 2.0 farad capacitor!
