Few Problems I'd Like to fix

Post by tbkbt »

Hey there a problem or two id like to fix on my corsa if i can.
ive read a few things how to fix otherstuff on here before, like replacing my wing mirror, but this is my first tim posting a Q.

The first is that my flash beam doesnt work. everything else on the stalk works ok, except the flash, is this a simple problem to fix or more complicated.

also the washbottle line to my rear windscreen has been cut. i can see where it has been repaired before by taking off the top of the tube that is on the left side if i open the boot. i cant get the bottom part to detach to get own into it. its somehwere in there, i know because if i try to use it, water comes out of the place where the rear seatbelts attach to the car interior. i think there is a screw hole there somewhere behind a cap but i dont want to take it off incase i break it. any help will be greately apreciated.
thanks

if the lights come on when pushed forward but won't flash by pulling towards you then its most probably the stork needs replaceing its not difficult to do.

the line to my rear washer split a while back and was spraying out of the holes where the rear seat belt goes in. I fixed mine by opening the boot and pulling back the rubber boot in the corner its a bit fiddly but you should be able to get hold of both ends. I got an extra bit of tube I had lying around and made a connection.

Well i have the same thing ... my tube going to the rear washer just ends beihind the cover in the boot and when i give it a blast .. like you lot said ..it drips from the bottom of the car...but i did enqire about this and apparently some of them came out the factory unconnected as it was an optional extra ( apparently btw) ...erm yeah.. sounds like it could be your stalk or ur fuse ....stalk will just unplug when you remove the steering wheel surround and plug a new 1 in :) ... find the fuse in the fusebox buy looking on the back of the cover and then test it to see if it works .. or simply look at it to see if it has broken !!!!!
Matt Neal for the championship ....woo off to thruxton next sunday !!!

Thanks for the reply folks. yeh the full beam works when the stalk is forward as normal but il check the fuse panel. i know where it is as i only put the panel back on yesterday, been lying under the seat for the last few years :) il check the back of it, but it looked really confusing but il give it a look,
about the rear washer il pull/twist/swear at the pipe and see if i can get it to come ou and fix it. its already got a larger tube there as i thnink it has been fixed previously.
for the stalk how do i remove it exactly, im guesing i dont just yank at it. do you ahve to remove the plastic bit taht surrounds the sterring wheel?
il have a look at what i can and let you know how i get on.
thanks for getting back to me.

Yeh remove the plastic surround on the steering wheel so get access to the stalks. Also if u dont have a haynes manaul (otherwise known as the bible) then u shud get one - it will help u loads with all these problems and how to fix them

usualy the flash / high beam curcuit is relay controled, so check which one it is (usualy tells you on the fuse box/ relay box cover) and if you have a relay the same swop them over and try the flash see if it works, if the problem is still there then the origional relay is likely to be fine and like has been said its probably the stork be the stork.
