1.6 sport running slow. i think. please help

right it is ok round town bwt same speed as my mates 1.2 16v corsa c, but after 70-80 it just dies and takes ages get any quiker.
is my corsa just really slow or are the corsa b's not that fast?

i have had the egr valve blocked off.
ive serviced it new oil,oil filter,air filter, checked leads and plugs.
ive derestricted the airbox but none of it has done a thing to how slow it seems to be.
it does seem to kick a tiny bit after 4,000 rpm but not as much as my mates corsa c 1.2 sxi.

is this normal and if not what could be causing this problem.
no smoke on start up or driving,not drinking petrol or oil its just seems be really slow.
