Acceleration Help!!

Post by CraigC »

Sometimes when i push the acceleration pedal down it takes a few seconds to respond and actually start reving. This is something that doesnt happen that often but still id rather make sure it can be fixed now rather than leave it and it becomes more often!

Any Ideas?

Thankss

Probably a bit of a flatspot starting to come. Try using gd petrol for a few weeks (like shell or maybe esso not tesco and asda) or maybe give it a service (new oil and spark plugs). Another thing to try is disconnecting the battery overnight which will reset the ECU and cause it to auto-adjust again - it seemed to get rid of mine the other day. Just remember when you start it up in the morning don't rev it for about 10 mins or until the revs drop to normal idle (about 800rpm on my car) then go on a good 20 min run with it using all of the gears and all of the revs. Hope that helps :)

does this mean if you've had your ECU remapped, and you disconnect the battery overnight, it will reset back to standard??

Hmm i think what would happen is that once you have had the ECU remapped, that would then be classed as " standard " as far as its concerned, so i dont think that it would reset back to factory ways, if that makes sence?

I have this problem and alot and it's easily fixed !

Pop the bonnet,

Un clip, 1 clip eaqch side.

Now sand paper all the connectors inside make it really clean, and simply clip back on
