Handbrake Light

Post by Baker »

Hi there,
Wondering if anyone could help. Basically the red exclamation mark which is on when your handbrake is on lights up when i go round a sharp bend... I cant see there being a problem with the handbrake cable, if it was slack or something because the cars only done 28,000!
Any ideas would be much appreciated! :)

check your brake fluid level
it also lights up when your brake fluid is low, and since its happening when you go round a bend, chances are that its just dipping below the mark causing it to light up.

Earth wire at your handbrake lever. Get it cleaned and really well grounded, drill a new hole for it if needs be. It's an easy fix.

Hi had the same problem after a while the exclamation mark was on all the time.took it for a service cause i'll be going around europe in the end of aughust; they told me the brake system was bleeding which was a bit dangerous.cost about 21 pounds+labour.
