door speakers,tweeters n x-overs..

Post by danthemann »

right,i got some fusion encounter speakers, tweeters, and x-overs...just wondering if anyone could do me a guide on how to fit em? considerin im a noob wen it comes to electrics lol.

im guessin im gonna need some kind of wires goin from the headunit to the x-overs...then the speakers and tweeters will go straight into the x-overs?

In my corsa, i have the same setup as you. iIscrewed the cross-overs into the lower plastic sections of my door cards so there out of the way and where i can adjust them easily if need be :)

Pretty much, both wires from the headunit which goes to the speakers as standard, should be connected to the input sections of the cross-overs. You'll then use the wires provided to connect the fusion speakers to the 'speaker' section on the cross-overs. And same again with the tweeters. You'll need to make sure the wires are connected properly by screwing down on the cross-overs, as i didn't and the speakers were distorted untill i sorted this.

I havn't amped up my speakers or cross-overs either, however im guessing if you wanted to amp them up, you would need to add the amp wires to the input section of the crossovers, so the power input which is connected to the cross-overs would be provided by the amp. Hope this helped :P i don't usually explain anything.
