HELP!! Immobiliser fault on corsa 1.4 8v HELP!!

HELP!! Immobiliser fault on corsa 1.4 8v HELP!!

need help trying to sort out the immobiliser fault on my car, was driving home from work and the car stopped, was diagnosed as the fuel pump relay so i tapped it on the floor and it worked, the following day i took the relay to bits to clean the contacts, refited it and for some reason the ecu light comes on for a few seconds and then starts to flash which i am told by my dad is a immobiliser fault, what can i do, does anyone know of any way you can bypass the immobilier?? the car will start but will cut out after few seconds which is because of immobiliser kicking in...........need help fast as need to use this car everyday for work........stuck without it

well the imobilizer works by shutting off the fuel pump, chances are you have ether damaged the relay or it wants replacing
not sure if you can bypass it sadly.

well even if i hold the contact in the relay closed so the pump is on constently on car still stops which indicates the immobiliser is killing the engine somehow, need to work out a way to bypass it or fix it, would putting in a ecu from a pre 95 corsa work because i know that they didnt have an immobiliser, because i know where there is 1....

The engine shouldn't start at all if its the immobiliser as it cuts power to the fuel pump and it cuts power to the coil so you won't even get a spark.
Your dad is right about the flashing light if when you turn the key to start the engine, the engine management light constantly flashes that indicates the immobiliser.

Try replaceing the fuel pump relay, you could also reset the ECU by unpluging the battery for an hour or two.

Pre 95 corsa don't have immobilisers but you must check that you have the same engine as there are three 1.4 8v engines the C14NZ, X14SZ and the C14SE.

i fixed the problem, it seems i pulled some wires apart when i took the fuel pump relay out!! this is because the car used to be an auto so had to modify the loom to accept a manual ecu from another car lol, oops!! ow and by the way forget about disconnecting the battery to reset the ecu on a vauxhall because i have been informed by my dad (who is an ex vauxhall technican) that this does not work on vauxhalls :D , the only car he knows of that it works on is a rover, people use this method to reset the ecu if the car wont go through an emmissions test, this resets the ecu to factory settings :D but appart from rovers he doesnt know of any other cars that it works on...........[img]http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=3 ... =829695245[/img] this car used to be a wright off!!!!

Thats looking nice but honestly at least on my car resetting the ECU does work by disconnecting the battery but it takes a good 8 hours or so. afterwards the idle is really rough and it drives like a pile of poo for a while but then smooths out again and remove flatspots and things

ow right thats new then. That will only work on a car that has whats called a 'self learning' ecu. Which adapts itself to the way you drive. Vauxhalls have a 2 part ecu. With a removable memory. Which can only be reset or programed by vauxhall on either tech 1 or tech 2 depending on the car. Corsas up to 96 will be on tech 1. Modern vauxhalls such as the new insignia, corsa d, astra h have gone over 2 self learning ecu's. :)
