Exhaust Costs and Help...

Post by kona1991 »

Hello,

Unfortunately my little corsa has a hole in her exhaust right by the bracket before the catalyst.
Makes her sound like a moped :'(

I was wondering if anyone could give me an average cost to get this repaired? do i require a new exhaust? section? can it just be welded?

Also i saw some exhaust repair things in halfords... like wraps round the hole and clamps on... would this work??

Any help would be appreciated as i was looking to sell the car asap and now this is something else im going to have to fix before i sell.

cheers

Connor

would try the tape stuff from halfords be for buying a new exhaust or caughing up big money. or just either just play the dumb card or be honest when selling it.
OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

yeh i'd defo do that if i was keeping the car... but im trying to sell it as im off to uni in a couple of months...

cant really afford to keep it insured and taxed if its just gonna sit at home.. and going to uni in london makes it pointless for me to take my car :(

use the tape repair stuff they do in halfords then sell it. As long as it's out of your hands before they notice who cares LOL shame to say it but not your problem mate. :D

If you have aluminium tape use that to wrap around the hole it shoul;d hold fine
you can sometimes find aluminium tape in pound shops so its a cheap fix

simple answer...GUN GUM lol..cheap as chips-wilkinsons i think its only £3..its like gum stuff u just mould around the hole..then when it heats up it solidifies..job done.
