Can I attach a Kenwood KDC-237 to the display unit?

Post by sboun »

Hey everyone. I've recently bought a Corsa B with a Kenwood KDC-237 stereo in, but when it's switched on the middle part of the display (with the date) just goes off. Is there any way that I can connect the stereo to this to display the radio station/track number etc.? I don't mind whether or not I need to buy an adapter if someone can point me in the right direction? Thanks!

vauxhall stereos can work with the display.
To stop the screen from going blank when you turn the radio on you need to cut a wire that goes from the stereo to the display, don't know which one it is but if you do a search you should find some more info.

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

As aleady said, only Vauxhall's standard radios only work with the display.

To stop the date from dissapearing you need to remove your display unit and remove (destroy) pin no.8 on the back of the display. Pin no.8 is for the aerial amplifier which is turned on when the radio is powered on and this is how the display knows the radio is turned on hence why the date dissapears.

Please bear in mind once you've destroyed pin no.8 on the back of the display that date will always be shown and you won't be able to use a standard vauxhall radio with the display again. You would have to replace the display with another one.

I've done this myself and does work if done correctly but at your own risk. I'm not responsable for your actions.

Hope this helps.

Dan.
