C20XE/F20 Driveshafts

Post by lowrider »

Hi there, i have been doing some work on a friends Corsa B, which has a 2.0 16v Redtop engine and F20 Gearbox, with standard Corsa hubs. The recurring problem we're having is a severe appetite for driveshafts/cv's. It keeps smashing nearside inner joints. Initially we were using Corsa GSi shafts, with Cavalier 1.6 inner CV's, but the shaft was a wee bit too short, so they kept pulling the shaft out of the joint. So we tried Corsa Diesel shafts, again with the Cav 1.6 inner joint (the only joint we've found that will join corsa shafts to the F20 box), but now the shaft is too long! Also, the Cav CV joints don't seem to be strong enough, a few have literally exploded! Anyone any ideas as to the best way forward? :(

get the astley ones...are well worth the money. you will need hubs, shafts and 2.0 CV's.

you can get a full kit from LMF Vauxhall (M-Tec) or get the individual bits from CAM and local motor factors. you will need new bearings pressed into the hubs too...

Paid £500 quid for the car, bit of a billy bargain methinks! :D Needs a bit of work, but nothing serious, just the driveshaft issue, a ball joint, a track rod end, and a damn good clean!

Oh, and i need a white bonnet if anyone has one?
