redtop engine help

i have a problem wit my c20xe its from a astra gsi with the seperate coil pack.it started today wen i put my foot down its alright through first then when in second it gets to high revs and it starts to smoke any ideas

piston rings or stem seals...what milage is it at? also, have you got a decat, because if you have, then thats why...because mine has done 300miles and smokes, as there is no cat to stop any oil that gets into the exhaust system...

does it matter if u get oil in the exhaust sytem?

i hav a decat and its nt tat high it had a full rebuild about 2000 miles or rund about tat

well its gonna put oit some oil at high revs then. there will be some getting past the rings at that rev rate, so unless its a huge amount, its okay.

id say its eaiva stem seals or a slighlty bemt valve i fount 1 single slightly bent valve wen i stripped my c20xe to rebiuld it hopes this hepls ya fella

try checking the valve steals mate if not that your looking at the block - scored piston or a burnt out ring

found out it was the setem seals it goes in 2 b fixed 2mz
