Re: 1.4 Sport ?
the 1.4 16 valve engine is pretty strong and pulls well. From every1 ive talked to with them they seem to be happy. Mds are cheap and plentiful - for example you can get the inlet manifold from the bigger 1.6 engine and justswap it on for instant power gains.all i can say is watch out for tired engines - i wud imagine its prove to being thrashed as its a higher performance corsa and people will inevitably try to keep up with all the other hot hatches like gsi's and vts and the like. Dont let that put u off, theres obviously a lot of gd cars out there but always get an extended test drive to see how the engine feels at a variety of speeds

Something wrong with your mates brakes I think. And no, they don't have the same brakes as the 1.0/1.2. They have ventilated discs.

Re: 1.4 Sport ?
Well I have a 1.6 on the way, gonna plonk it into my car replacing a 1 litre. Sod telling my insurance company. I don't drive like an idiot, so the chances of me making any sort of claim are nil
