Theres something about cutting 1 wire when replacing a radio/cd. Do a forum search for it.

Try shinning a touch light into the display and see if you can see the digits. If you can then it's problem with the bulbs (lighting the display).
If nothing at all then and you've replaced the fuse it's got to be a wiring problem or the connection.

Ive got kinda same.. ish problem, if I turn my radio on the date disapeers in the centre console n my temp gage aint working properly lol, clocks fine though
Just have a really close look at the clock to see any numbers if so you'll need to play around with the bulbs, if not check the fuse and wiring, make sure its wired properly

Please do not cut, the CDR500 is one of the few CD players which actually works with the MFD...LesterPiglet wrote:Theres something about cutting 1 wire when replacing a radio/cd. Do a forum search for it.
The CDR500 works on both 8 and 10 digit MFDs, but it does not auto-detect what you have. To fix your problem, turn the ignition on, the radio off, hold 3 & 5, turn the radio on and it should show "DISPLAY 8". Let go of the buttons and it will be fine from now on

I stated this as I was wondering what was in there before, maybe the wire has already been cut!RenRenRen wrote:Please do not cut, the CDR500 is one of the few CD players which actually works with the MFD...LesterPiglet wrote:Theres something about cutting 1 wire when replacing a radio/cd. Re: blanked clock/temperature/stereo Corsa B
The display is not powered by the standard radios and so therefor won't be the radio as he is saying the hole display isn't coming on at all. Electrical problem somewhere.
Pin 8 is only to be cut/destroyed at the back of the display to make the date stay on when the aftermarket radio is fitted and is switched on. This wire/pin is connected to the cars aerial amplifier which is turned on when the headunit is turned on. This is how the display knows the headunit is powered on.
Cutting this wire at the back of the headunit will stop the aerial amplifier from been powered therefor a poor radio signal.

Re: blanked clock/temperature/stereo Corsa B
I plugged in the Vauxhal CD Player CDR500 in to my corsa b, the radio and the CD player works, but how do I get the Radio Display to work on the centre console so as I can tune in my radio?. When I turn off my radio the display shows the correct features, Date, month, year, and temp; switch the radio on and the centre display is completely blanked out, it seems as the display is not receiving the RDS feed from the radio. Any help would be
appreciated.
appreciated.
