Cold feed help

hey again
i have drilled my air box and going to fit a cold feed pipe, i am going to put the intake feed in the bumper but was think about putting the other end diret into my air box ,so the air gets pushed stright into my air box , is this a good idea and as any one else done this or will it mess up becouse there is going to be to much air going in , or dose it not matter how much air gose in ,and is it more cold air going in better it is , dont know anything really in this part any help on my Q will be great

have a little think about it mate you've drilled ur air box to allow more air in and there should already be a pipe feedin cold air in to the air box.......wot difference is a diffeent pipe goin to make?

and it can damage ur air flow meter.

The point is the air intake is tiny. More cold air is always a good thing. If you go ahead with this do not make it a closed system. If water gets chucked into the air intake in the bumper it can only go one place, the airbox.

or will it be best to put the cold pipe end right next to where i driled the holes then putting it direct into the box for a 2nd feed in

best bet if u wanna do this i think wud be 2 create a closed system but put the cold air feed behind the headlight. this is what i have done with my enclosed induction kit and it gets a good amount of air in without risking the problem of sucking up water. also DO NOT put your cold air feed facing directly forward or u will crew your air flow meter up due to air being forced up the pipe and into the car when you go at speed.

thats my opinion anyway and it works for me - other people might tell u different tho

You don't feed a drilled airbox, there's no point as the holes will still suck up hot air. (But it'll sound nicer)

If you want a cold air feed, get a cone filter (preferably a closed one) and fit the one end to the filter, and the other just behind the grille pointing directly forward. That's the best way to get the maximum amount of air into the car.

And no, it won't mess the MAF up as measuring fast moving air is it's whole job! It'll only get messed up if bits of crap get sucked up and damage it that way, thats why you mesh the front of the cold air feed first.
