Post by corsa-cmon »

Forgive me if i sound a lil stupid.

I was just wondering if you put a new exhaust on your car ( full system or backbox ) how this can effect your m.o.t.
?
What are the rules with after market exhausts and MOTs??

Cheers..

had a word with my dad about this as he is an m.o.t tester......

if the exhaust is significantly louder than a standard system, it is classed as a failure but its mainly down to tester disgression, so if you find that the person who does your test is a bit strict with testing then they will fail it

the only cars that dont come into that are subaru impreza's and mitsubishi evo's because they are fitted with big exhausts as standard

hope this helps
