Lowering advice needed!

Post by Frankie4fingers »

Right people, got a set of springs for my car, need some advice.

Me and a mate (whos really experienced at lowering cars) made an attempt at it. We put a back spring on, but when we jacked it back up, it fell out. He thinks this is cause its not designed specifically for the Corsa B, but another mate of mine says everybody he knows with a lowered Corsa B has the same problem and copes just fine with it.

I really don't know what to do tbh. Anybody share this problem? Major advice needed.

front or rear?
if its front im not sure how it can fall out as the shock absober and spring should be one complete unit
like Image

if it is the rear ones then you will need the right size spring, specificly designed for a corsa as the top and bottom of the spring has to sit in the spring seats
and yes if you jack the rear up the spring will just fall out as its only held in with the weight of the car

Yeh, its the rear. So if it sits alright, but falls out wehn jacked up, its alright?

Getting confused cause one mate is saying it would be dodgey, the other says it would be right and they are both pretty in the know with cars. . .

yea they just fell out on my old corsa when i lowerd mine.
as i said they are just held in place with the weight of the car, they wont fall out when driving
that said you need to make sure you have correct corsa b springs because if they arnt they MAY fall out as they wont fit in the spring seat properly
(and that wouldnt be fun!)
