car wont turn off

I have a m reg vauxhall corsa 1.4ls hi-torq that wont turn off. I take the key out and its still running. i have to stall it to turn it off. ignition light stays on with no keys in the ignition. any clues please

sounds like the ignition barrel is buggerd
probably need a new one, about £15 plus fitting

ps. check and make sure your hazard light switch hasnt been messed with, this can cause igintion problems on older corsas

The ignition barrel is fine i checked that first the hazard lights are working but now the windscreen wipers are playing up

have you checked the wires off the barrell?

ignition barrels can be funny on the older corsas.
I once drove my car for an hour with the key stuck half turned and only noticed when my wipers didn't work.

check the red and yellow wires on sterio i had same problem
