tried doing this but it didnt work,all it done was mash the nut lol

The nut needs to be screwed on so the top of it is flush with the top of the shaft.

Did you have the nut sitting flesh with the top of the shaft?
You shouldn't damage the nut if it is flush mate.

yeh i had the nut flush,probz not workin coz of the hammer im using lol...and where u live mate?

or just put your feet on the dash and yank like f**k thats what i did to mine.

pull the steering wheel side to side and itl come off!

I think tbh it might be time to invest in a 'puller' off fleabay m8 - i know they are 15 quid but that aint that much. plus you can always sell it again after uve finished with it as well :) lol

gotta take my car to a mate to remove a rounded bolt on seat,so hes gonna do it,hes done it loads of times..and was one of the first people to fit the 1.8 lump in a corsa b lol

I'm attempting removal of the steering wheel tomorrow and from the thread so far it seems like a complicated procedure. Is it not just a case of removing the horn, undo a big nut then whack the steering wheel from behind?

My question is what size is the nut? Just so i can pop down Halfords to get the right socket before i start.
