Upgrading

Post by dom_boi87 »

Right.. i have a corsa capital 1.4. Im fed up with it being slow and feeling like im gonna roll every time i try take a corner with any force.
I wanna upgrade the engine and i was wondering what people would recommend. I was thinking a 1.6 1.8 or go for the 2.0 redtop.
Obviously for sheer power i should go for the 2.0 litre but dunno if i could get the same power out of a 1.6/1.8 with a lot of tuning.

Can anyone recommend any engines? Any advice on the whole subject will be greatly appreciated.

Also recommending a gear box, brake disks and pads and any advice on how to get the best handling out of it as well (size of wheels, lowering of suspension sort of thing)

Cheers guys

Isn't the x20xe the best to get?

Also it depends on you're age and insurance wise if you already feel like it's gonna roll round the corners your raging it.......Stick with it and maybe learn to control that before you go killing yourself :)

if youve got a 1.4 16v you can make them really quick with a few hundred spent on engine . eg induction, peformance manifold, peformance leads, exhaust etc
handling - lowering kit, decent set of alloys, strut braces, striped interior etc.

would do them before you decide to spend alot more money on a engine conversion.
