Handbrake Tensioner

Post by PeaSXI »

Hi All,

Recently ive heard lots of rattling/hitting noises coming from the back .. didn't think its the bearing as had them replaced, so thought it was something to do with the brakes... have ordered new shoes as they need changing anyway .. also need a fitting kit for them if anyone knows where i can get one ?

Onto the problem .. had a look today .. and when the hand brake is on .. and back off ... i hear kind of the same noise ... upon investigation .. i could see that it was the "tensioner" hitting the back axel/top of car ... and ive been told it is hold on by a bracket/clip ... is this right ? And does anyone know where i can buy one .. or even know the specific name for it?

Many Thanks.

What is a fitting kit for brake shoes? I've never replaced anything except the shoes unless there is obviously something else wrong.

No idea but sounds like something a cable tie could fix. :)
