Just a few questions :)
ok so ive lowered my rear end today by 40mm,all was well, easy enough job considering ive never done anything like that before,but..... when i put everything back together i noticed the new spring seemed a little bit loose,i assume this is because its a shorter spring? it seems ok when the car is on the ground, just seems a bit loose wen its jacked up.
also, when going over bumps a can now hear a knocking noise from rear end,it only happens when you hit a pot ole or summat, what could this be? exhaust?
and finally, probably another daft question but my rear springs look like the coils are very close together when its on the ground, infact the coils are that close together i cant even get my little finger between the coils. could this be whats causing the knocking noise? the fact the the spring is rubbing against its self?
cheers guys,
ill be doing front tommorow! got proper tools and read all the guides and also bought new nuts and bolts for front shocks,as per haynes manual says to replace the nuts and bolts on front shocks whenever there disturbed, better to be safe than sorry lol.so im pretty confident ill manage it.

Re: Just a few questions :)
got an exhaust similar to the powerflow one on my corsa, unlowered at the moment and it rests on the rear bumper metal bit sometimes and so vibrates really bad when stationary on a hill and knocks when i hit bumps and pot holes so it could just be the exhaust like dan says.
i think my middle section is wrong though where it mounts to the car on the rubbers so will have to cut it ovv and re weld the mounts so that it pushes the exhaust towards the engine more

ok thanks!
am i just been paranoid about the ''loose'' springs when the car is jacked up? or is this normal with them been shorter springs lol.

i used jamex 40mm springs. they are nice and tight when the car is on the ground but abit loose when rear is jacked up,it must be coz they are shorter?

Re: Just a few questions :)
nice,im looking for sum vaux alloys myself,no bigger than 15s,only reason im stickin with vaux wheels is due to the offset been perfect on them i wont get any probs rubbing or owt,so long as they have the right profile tyre.
i was thinking about some of a tigra or cavalier maybe,or even of a calibra.
trouble is it looks mint on the rear coz ive only got 13's with ''chunky'' tyres they fill the arch and it looks lower than what it actually is lol,and im worried if i put 15's on with summat like 195/45/15 tyres, which is what i would need or i could get away with 195/50/15 tyres, that it might not look as low and it might ''raise'' the car a liltte. we shall have to experiment lol.

Re: Just a few questions :)
195/45/15 will deffo fit even if u lowered 60mm,but im only at 40mm for practical reasons and im wondering if they wont fill the arch's as much as my 13's lol!?!?
