my petrol gauge has caught swine flu it seems, i had half a tank in her (just filled up) and about ten minutes later bang half of it disappeared, il have to admit, i thought the rubber seal on my injector had broke again and wasting petrol into engine, so i drove about a bit seems to go down a little bit as normal, i parked her up for the night next mornin drove about a bit then realised, it was showing half a tank again.. i was quite mystified too lol, then it dropped back down to 1/4 tank, to be on the safe side i filled up with another tenner it went up to about 35 litres or so, after a while it dropped down into the red, now its hovering along the red bar and red light always on...
was talking to someone they said i might need a new float (http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... 0368484366)
i was thinkin, if i was workin on and off maybe its just loose wire or what ever?? or could it be blocked somehow??
anyway, i have no idea where this is within the car if anyone could point me in the right direction before i run out of petrol in the middle of nowhere, my car doesnt heat up too much as it is and its even worse when the car doesnt start when its -5 outside... and probably -7 in my car

The fuel gauge is under the rear seat. There is a ring device there wich you knock round with a something that won't spark. The fuel is there so we don't want any accidents. Also disconnect your battery before you start for the same reason.

The sender unit is clipped to the side of the fuel pump housing.

You need to go under the seat.

Re: petrol gauge not working right
Also worth trying this!
Take your speedo out, at the back of the speedo is a chip that is held in by a very small hex bolt. This little chip controls the needle and reading on your speedo for fuel! If this has gone (which it can do) your needle will be all over the place (like mine used to be). Pick one up from scrap yard for about a £1
