paper clip test
hi guys i tried the paper clip test but i didt have the lil stars flash up the whole eml was flashing but wen i put the paper clip in a and b the car ticked over better any ideas?

the stars on the guide represents a eml light flash
so your doing it right

i dont no mate as did not count as wasnt sure if i was doing it wright but it keeps flashing so how do i count that?

have you checked the guide for it on here?
when your checking the code the eml will flash so many times then pause for a second then flash again, the 1st set of flashes before the pause = the 10s eg 1 flash then a pause = 10 3 flashes then a pause = 30, the flashes after the pause = 1s eg 1 flash = 1 5 flashes = 5 so 3 flashes a pause and 5 flashes would = 35.
giv it another go but remember it will flash the code 12, 3 times before it flashes the fault code you want.

yer it helped thanks, it come up with 24 which is vechile speed sensor so wud that cause it to cut out and run bit lumpy also wen i ran it with the paper clip left in it ran fine and ticked over fine

you can do it with the engine running, this is reccomended as some ECUs can flash the wrong code if it isnt

i have done the paper clip test and it came back with vechile speed sensor but as far as im aware it doesnt have one its just cable driven any ideas?

The vehicle speed sensor is an integral part of the speedometer assembly and no individual spare parts are available. Replace your clocks.

Found the problem. Number 1 plug gap had closed up so on low revs was only running on 3 cylinders but u cudnt rly hear it.
