dials not working

hi guys i have changed my engine to a 1.4 8v sri lump from a 1.2 8v, i have changed the dials over but the fuel gauge does not work and nor does the speedo and the fuel light is constantly on weather it is some thing to do with not installing the fuel pump and sender correctly im not sure, any ideas?

check the connection in the back of the clocks and make sure its in correct also was the float free moving on the pump

erm think the float was it worked on the car before

As far as I am aware the pumps are all the same so wouldn't need changed. Why were the clocks changed? This is where the fault lies most likely.

well i changed the engine with fuel pump so i changed the dials the rev counter works and the temp gauge

?? The fuel pump is in the petrol tank.

the fuel pumps run at different pressures the 1.2 one was 0.7 bar and the 1.4 one is 3 bar

That's odd. Never seen anything about that in haynes. Must rescan it.

Haynes must have missed that as there is no mention.
Is your speedo electric or mechanical?

its cable. im pretty sure both ends are plugged in propperly but im going to check but cant see y petrol gauge wont work

You need to check the sender unit in the tank as you have had it out.
