Corsa 1.0 12V Envoy Mass Air Flow Filter

Post by ezdi4life »

Hello everyone i would like to know some information about how i can resolve my problem when i put my foot down on the accelerator and if i am on the motorway or just giving it full power the the engine managment light comes on and i feel that i have no power until i leave the accelerator and the light goes off after a few seconds then i get full power again.

As time has went passed i have noticed that my fuel consumption has went really bad e.g. i put £20 of petrol in and it only last me a maximum of 100 miles.from reading this forum i have noticed that there is a known problem to these corsa's that they have a problem with the mass air flow filter/sensor.

Can anyone give me some information on how to see if its definetly the mass air flow filter without spending any money on code reader's(it is the credit crunch):D. and with my fuel consumption being really bad is this problem going to make other things about the car worse because i also heard that this could break my catalic converter.

Please Help MEEEEEEEEE!!!!

u cud have done the paper clip test but u've got the wrong engine and it wont work, get mass air flow meter from a scrap yard or ebay brand new for like £25. and see if it makes any difference. if u get one from vauxhall they'll charge you £220.

or u can go to a local garage and ask them too do a diagnostics but i dont think it will be cheap

OFFICAL DVLA DATA:
1414 - corsa gsi's on the road in 2008.
735 - corsa gsi's currently on the road and 436 SORN
Basicly you would have to be a right tw*t to break one for parts

Thanks to everyone for an awsome weekend at pvs!

more than likely mass air flow meter. really simple to do if u look at the air filter box there is a plastic pipe coming off it follow that for about 30 - 60 cm i should think and your see on the pipe there is two screws more than likely they are security torx`s they will be one above the other take these out pull the mass air flow meter out put new one in then screws back on job done (Y)
