PRICER wrote:haha  yerr it would, but i bet it'd be a bastard to paint :meh: think i'l stick to what colours hamerite have in they're range :)
did my chassie in red oxide looked nice mot time and was a lot easier to keep clean rather than underseal which in my opinion holds the crap on and just rots it out more think i paid £20 for 5 gallon at a farm sale lol was a few years ago now mind lol

yea that would be cool, i know of a series 2 land rover parked up iv been pestering about buying it then i would swap my whole front end and the chassis number and make it tax exempt :) save on the robbing tax man, im not going to spray mine as im wanting it to be used for off road etc so scratches and odd dent i dont mind, this is more of my play toy as iv got a series 1 land rover in the shed thats my baby :)

an update of the landrover, spotlights fitted on the roof, and fitted new heater plugs today :) she starts LOADS better now, a little present for her for winter ;) and a whippy aerial for the CB radio when i get it installed,

Image

and i also siliconed in the floor pans and put more bolts in to pull them up and try and fill in some of the holes to stop the wind getting in so the heater has a chance of working lol got new high and low lever gaiter and new handbrake gaiter coming aswell so they should be here this week sometime so that will also stop alot of cold air coming into the cab, and ordered some rear mud flaps aswell, and some headlight and tail light mesh covers, and a radiator muff to try and get the engine warmer in the winter :)

well after driving this around for over a year as my other vehicle due to the corsa being off the road for pretty much most of it, its had ALOT of stick and done alot of miles, even went on an off roading weekend with a few mates earlier in the year around wales, did like 400 miles in one weekend, my back was killing by the time we got back but a hell of a weekend,
but just a summary,
the gearbox went not long after that, so had to source another gearbox,
and broke a rear half shaft, t
hen the front wheel bearing collapsed and was sitting on the half shaft then that snapped and the wheel came off.
and now the gearbox has gone again! so im building an R380 gearbox from a discovery and converting it to fit my 200TDI gearbox with a ultra short bell housing.
and through all this water it got me thinking i need to upgrade the axles. so iv bought some 300TDI discovery axles so they're ALOT wider than what iv got now so i'l be getting discs all round then aswell as having defender arches so it'l look proper wide 8)

and here are a few photos of what i mentioned,

oh had some fun and made a door card,

Image

shapped rear shaft in the diff, that i had to get out with hammer and chisel.

Image

made a big centre console with switches and a volt gauge, got a water temp and oil temp to go in there aswell at some point,

Image

photo of when the wheel came off,

Image

then made a winch bumper but still need to finish it and buy and install the winch but im saving my money just yet and re-building it first

Image

my new gearbox in pieces waiting on couple of bearings then can build it back up, but still yet to order them .
