pinty1990 wrote:hey mate i had problems with my jets and motor etc, had to change the motor which was easy enough, but to get the get out i had to get a small flat headed screwdriver under the jet and gently prize it up, but make sure you got a rag on the end of the screwdriver so you dont mark the bonnet, they were a bit of bugger to get off mind. Thought my jets were blocked so tried soaking them in vinegar and hot water, but it did nothing, however once i put them back about two months later the jets started working again so maybe it did loosen some crap up, hope this helps
oh btw i know its a bit cheeky but have you ever taken the rear wiper off??? unsure how to do it as mine has started to rust a little
. . . not happy
To be honest when i get home from work its Dark and normaly raining and im tired and cant be arsed staying out in the weather
So im trying to leave these sort of minor problems untill the spring / summer. Ive only taken off the front wipers that was easy enough. havnt done the back wiper myself. im sure its the same.

Yea i dont even think my red clip idea is working proper so im gona pick up a "L bend" copper plumbing pipe and cut the breather hose in the middel and clip it onto the "L Shaped" pipe that will defo fix it and give plenty of room for air to pass. this is one in B&Q but i wanted one with more of a bend in it but it might do the job.
Also i dont know if this is just dirt from the road thats causing my window to get this dirty but as my water jets dont work at times the window tends to get covered in a white film as if someone chucked milk onto the window. if i turn on the wipers it just spreads it out and i have to wait till it clears due to light rain or if i tail a large truck the wet spray from his back wheels will clear it. So i really dont know if this is just Dirt from the road or if its something to do with oil / coolant / busted radiator. im sure its just dirt. (in the photos it dosnt look that bad, but if i turn on the wipers and it spreads it can be very hard to see out.

yea when i get paid il pick up a copper pipe and that will be the breather hose fixed.
and cleaning you mean the window / water jets ?? - i tried cleaning the water bottle out and the pump but theres not much to it all. last restort is to try and clean the water jets themselfs.

Mate called into work today and gave me this from his old home made oil catch tank.
Going to get it fitted on Sat and that will be the breather hose pipe sorted for good.
The copper pipe is even painted blue to match the car

Another day inspecting the car ...
Coolant level - below half way line. (half way between empty and half way line.)
Start with oil cap ...
Moved onto creating the custom breather pipe...
Then had a good look around the engine bay to look for more signs of leaks etc.
Heres what i found ...
This part is stained dark and looks to be covered in oil
Same part on the left, and then noticed engine looks kinda rusty and heat blasted. Some them bolt heads look rusty too.
Heres a Drip stain, this would be under the oil sump so id say its an oil drip. ( timing cover area to the left, as noticed before lower down is covered in oil. )
As you can see below the top of the timing area is clean problem must be lower down the engine.
Also in this photo,, what are the 3 pipes that are running along here, as there was a slow drip that looked like water ( perhaps coolant )
you can see how i tilted the camera down lower to show were the drips were landing ( it was frosty last night perhaps its just condensation run off ??? )

Yea but look how thick it is, if it was only a light skim every other month id be happy but this is Crazy !
Its a good reason to do the engine overhaul for sure.
The quicker i get all the parts together then i can start this project and really get to inspect the cause of it all.

Just won the best bargain ever !!
Spoted a Full Timing Chain kit + tools on Ebay for Dirt Cheap
"
ULTRA - Automotive Engine Parts"
Starting bid - £30
or
Buy it now - £80
I stuck down a max bid of £50, but no one else bidded on it so i won it for
£30 !!
Kit includes ..
one timing chain (o.e. chain), one tensioner rail, one guide rail, one oil jet guide, one hydraulic tensioner, one tensioner retiaining pin, one timing cover gasket, one front oil seal, two upper sprockets, one lower sprocket, one spacer washer, one allen key, two water pump gaskets (choice), oil pickup pipe o ring seal, one crankshaft bolt and two camshaft bolts (choice). This kit also includes the camshaft & crankshaft locking tools you will need to do the job.
These kits im sure you know can sell for a good £60/£70 on there own, but then you always have to buy the Timing tools which will cost another £45/£55
So i really do think i got a bargain, i just hope it does have everything it states. and hope everything is in good condition. The seller said its brand new in box but never used as the car was sold and it was sitting in his garage. Il have peace of mind when it comes in the post and i see that everything is still in its plastic package wrap.
Again im over the moon with this one. with such a saving il be able to buy the other parts faster than expected and not be out so much money.
