Well i dont NEED it, and tbh, i dont want to spend too much on it. Tbh, id be lookin to spend no more that £25-30 on one...and you'd probs get what you paid for it if sold on ebay.
As im lookin to get a full cage put in, it will be made redundant in the future ya see. TBH, sell it...coz there is so much that i have to get sorted once its running and i know im gonna need gearboxes
but thanks anyways!

i got it with an X16XE in it, im not sure if it actually ever had the C16 (the late-spec GSi's did come with the X16's). Ask Paul W, it used to be his!

Ok, here's a little vid of the carb noise. It is at idle and sounds even better than this when its driving and under torque, but that will come soon.
Its in the dark but you are listening...not seeing.
Enjoy!

R1 carbs. they have been a bitch to get sorted...and the parts cost quite a bit, but i think its worth it coz its what iv wanted all along.
There is a garage local to me who specialise in the set-up of this sort of thing, so they timed it up and sorted fuelling etc.

Saturday 10th January
Well i spent the day pulling the old flair apart today. Been a good car but it is just rusted through so i will feel bad if i dont pull it apart and get it off the road.
Spent about 4 hours or so pulling various bits off, and still have some major parts left to do.
Started with the front end...bumper, lights and grille all came off...girlfriend Lou took the mirrors off and unbolted spoiler whilst i was undoin the bumper.
Next problem was the doors. I had to have them off so someone could come and get them. The hinge pins were goosed...completely, so gettin them out was an absolute bugger.
They did eventually come off, and the bonnet was swapped for the other guys when he came to collect them all.
Leaving it like this at the end of day...
Few pics of the rust that was in the chassis leg and behind the bumper bar.
Anyone wants anything, let me know!

Well, i have a little update. I have been driving it for 10 days now, have passed the 250 miles mark and a few problems are starting to surface.
The CV boots are slipping off the hubs at about 50% turn. So im going to have to try and clean them up and re-apply them. I knew they would cause me a load of hassle.
Also, as the milage clocks up...there is a very high pitched squeal coming from the bottom pulley area. Its not the normal belt squeal...nowhere near that loud...but its much higher pitched. Plus it only happens between 2 and 3kish. I have no idea what it could be. There is the smallest amount of movement in the bottom pulley, as in less than 1mm, but i cant see that being the problem...and all the belts are at the correct tension. :boggle:
So i have got my fair share of things to try and sort out on it. Day off is monday, so i will have to have a go then!
Other than that, the only jobs are to sort the fan switch out, and change the oil! Oh and re-seal the dipstick tube...
