Goes alright - nothing massively special, just nippy and noisy

Been off work today, Ill. *cough*....
So, eventually got bored, and went out in the breezy, fresh air and ripped some poo out from the Car
Which has left me with this;
I attempted to give the Paintwork inside a cleaning off, but a lot is ingrained dust etc, so wouldn't be lifted off with a moist rag. Will have to get in there with some T-Cut soon. Stereo sounds odd now too, as it's just lost 2 of its 6 Speakers...
Considering cutting the Carpet level with the rear of the Seats, as wouldn't mind the bare metal being level, but retaining some carpet at the Front, or i might just rip it all out... We'll see.
Also, a bit of a downside to it being stored outside in the Countryside, it gets swarmed by Flies, and as a result, they have left their poo/vomit all over the bodywork and glass, so will need to spend a few hours polishing to get rid of it just before we leave for Billing...
Feckers.
Also managed to feck up my Locking Wheel Nut Key, so had to hammer it onto the nuts and remove them all and swap them for the same Bolts as i used on the Cavalier for a little bit of security (Large Allen-ish Types)... The McGard Bolts were a nice idea, but the key was poo, one slip and its fecked. As i found out.

Oh My Feck.
A problem I thought would require extensive wallet damaging costs, has turned out to be a bodge job by a Previous Owner! And can be fixed with the simplest of things...
:D
Basically.......
When we bought the Car originally, for SWMBO, we found when we first washed it that the paintwork had no Lacquer - when we chamoised it, the Chamois would be white after running across the bodywork - also the bodywork has always had a Matt finish to it. We decided that we shouldn't bother T-Cutting or anything because it may make it worse, and we'd save for it to be given a good going over...
Anyway. Tonight I went out to try to be rid of some of the crusted Fly poo from the bodywork. With T-Cut;
T-Cut bodywork to the Left, uncut to the Right
And some spot testing...
Bonnet/Wing
Roof;
What it appears... Is that a previous owner had the car dusted over in White on the Cheap. And never had it Lacquered (We suspect it had a Bodykit, as the Tow-Eye has been cut off, maybe to improve clearance, and the OE bumpers are both Glossy, and always have been) So a good going over with the T-Cut has brought up a nice Glossy Finish, as it should have been...
Now i just need to do the whole fecking car...
If only we'd bothered when we got it!

Stick this in your pipe and smoke it...
DIY'd Rear Brace
I went to work and raided the Steel Stores, cut a length of Mild Steel 3mm Walled 35mm O/D Tubing, (to 969mm length), and then cut 2 End plates, again Mild Steel 140x50x3mm and had them welded to the tube (Coded Welders at work did the job nicely too...
)
The Plates were left straight, so that I could bend them to suit the shape of the Strut Turrets once the brace was located in position in the car (with the assistance of a Soft Faced Mallet and some brute force...
)
One bolt on one side, and a picture of the decent Welds (the spatter blobs have all been removed too);
I used some M10 Stainless Steel Fixings too, again acquired from Work for the measly sum of nothing...
Pics with the RH Side Fully Bolted up, LH Side ready for Drilling;
Pics of it fully fitted;
This weekend, it'll be Painted too - I was just getting all the fitting done, so that once it is painted, it won't get scratched to feck!

This weekends tinkering is done.
So...
Paintwork completed;
Also, had a crappily covered Loom at the rear - so stripped it off and recoated it then reattached it to all its clips with ties instead of tape (as i found it, looked like how it was attached from factory)
You can see it in this pic;
Then fitted a Cargo Net for a bit of load security
All good til next weekend now, i'd imagine. May crack on with sorting the paintwork out during the week though
