steve...are you gonna take it on track, wit standard suspension!
you are gonna have to be extremely careful. i wouldnt trust it in a car park...nevermind on a circuit! the first thing to do for the track is brakes, suspension and tyres...

i agree 17's with standard suspension . is like driving a double decker bus , keep old wheels and get suspension instead.

i will copy the recent PM into here as its useful related info!
well, i wouldnt go for the 17's...and defo not 6 pots! nono...bad, bad thing to do!
you put bigger wheels on and it will disrupt the handling. i have seen people go up, and come straight back to 15's - even from 16", the handling is drastically reduced.
I have got a set of 2.0 calipers and red dot 6 groove discs wit hard compound pads...and they are superb. However, what i would suggest...and what i am going to be doing, is getting a set of the 280odd mm hi-spec 4 pots. Thing is, with there being no weight in it (mine is stripped out as well, just my seats basicly)...the back goes very light under hard braking and even wit my current setup i sometimes have to wrestle with it to not swap ends! So the 4 pots would be well and truly sufficient, believe me.
For the track, keep the wheels at 15" and get the 4pots. Honestly...bigger isnt better on corsas...its about getting everything balanced just right!

thanks for the info.
but surely wont the 17s be ok with low profiles because the rolling radius is the same

Yeah ...at least you've cracked on as soon as you have bought it but like chrex said .....priorities mate .....i'd keep 15" wheels and fit the 2.0 ltr brakes ....and you wanna change your suspension for track use to ..(i know this can be expensive) .....the x14xe you have is a nippy motor and with a good set of tyres...good suspension set up and better brakes you'll be hooning it mate......as soon as you have finished this track day ..get you're self some poly bushes and stiffen it up a bit ...some anti roll bars and better suspension set up ......for a track day you'll probably go through a set of pads and tyres ...so get some semi decent part worn tyres for ya track day and expect to be changing the pads to
...but anyway good luck ...and correct me if im wrong but is that wood on the underside of you're seats ????
...for a track car its lookin kl
btw !!

I thought that too, but on closer inspection, it looks like rusty box section.
