paul could well be on to something when he said u need to run a few tanks on it, my engine was all stripped down etc before it went in, and they drained the petrol tank.
i once had to fill up with tesco petrol cos was sooooo low and miles from another petrol station the car was jerking all over the place and was low in power, only put a tenner in, and it was fine after that....i didnt make the connection till i picked up that copy of total vauxhall where they tested different fuels
(was a while back) optimax came in top
