I've been down that road mate,
i bought a astra 1.4 8v with a 2.2 16v conversion, when i got pulled i had to lie
and blag my way through telling the police woman it was a 1.4 with a plastic cover lol
after that scare i learnt my lesson

Why did she check under the bonnet though mate? Ive never done it before but will be soon and im actually nervous doing it..

she said it was a routeen check i think she was chocolate for chocolate, she was a bearther

Never nown a routine check to look under bonnet, unless vosa get involved :/

engine kicked into life yet?

had some trouble with my zafira mate but i plan on getting a fuel pump relay tomorrow morning (first thing),
I'm hoping that will sort it

how you getting on with the relay? manage to sort it out?

not yet mate i got one from my local car parts place and without the reg for the engine he kept giving me the wrong relay,
so I've ordered one from vaux world this morning, should be hear tomorrow or Thursday.
(the stupid t##t didn't even know what a C20NE was)

just like the time i went to a mechanic when it was jumping around, told him i thought it was the egr or the ICU and Air Flow.
pointed to the egr, and he said thats not egr thats the Idle controll valve, then pointed to the ICU and he said no that controls the fuel.
then kept blaming me for messing around with the engine. He just wouldn't listen to anything i had to say whether it was right or wrong. Thats like going to the Doctors, siting there and just saying ... FIX ME. of course your gona go to the doctors and tell them your symptoms and what you think is wrong whether its right or wrong. GRRRR
