Always take your car to council run MOT centres they cant carry work out on public cars but they do have to be open to public for MOTS, unlike 99% of garages they wont fail you on thinking they can make some money out of u. My car failed last year on track rod end balljoint guy showed me what was up so took it home sorted it and took back for retest next day he quickly looked at it and gave me a pass:) and this years didnt even get a advisory:) honest mate id really recommend council run centres for it when i see garages charging a tenner fo a MOTS i just think they are out to rob u on repairs lol. Cars looking nice:))

Start a new thread saying what needs welded, we can't give advise on 'car needs welded'

For instance if the chassis leg are rotted its alot more work than a rusty sill or spring seat

its ok mate ur not to far from me and like johnny sez mate what u need welding and which part if Chester u from. Most garages can do welding but they do vary in prices there is a

garage by me which can do plates for £15 each which ain't bad on price

It's really up to you, do you like the car enough to spend 100 welding it

Buying a gsi now you have to buy it as a project car it's to old to expect it not to be rotted somewhere
