All three codes cleared 22,44,71, now runs better and is less jerky. new voltmeter connected to blue wire on TPS and 0.42v spot on, although 6v + on WOT not 5v but it doesn't seem to care about that.
One new air temp sensor, one clean Lambda connection and one TPS interface on throttle spindle. Now I have a spare C14SE throttle body going spare.
Just need to get emissions checked now and re-book ITV (MoT) test.

I give up! everything was fine until wife drove it,5 km up the road and she gets the EML on, so when she gets home and I read 22 and 44 I'm stumped, cleared the codes, checked the connections, earths, voltages etc, run the engine, revved it and no light.
I bet she will come home with the EML on again.

I wish it was that simple but I doubt it.

She always does that, at least a steady 80mph where possible. I was wondering if the high voltage was from the WOT setting as it is above 5V on WOT (6.2v) but still 0.42V on tick over? Could this also affect the TPS reading?

The bit nobody knows ya know.
This is the throttle spindle to TPS interface. it's not a straight bar as I made but H sectioned, so I have had to over adjust by 3mm to compensate, the new/old throttle body will rectify this.

All changed but kept my ICV. all good now, 0.42V on tick over and 4.6 WOT, car runs better than ever, it will be interesting to see what happens when we plug it into the analyser.
But got a weird one.
Fitted a new bulb into the heated rear window knob, which as you know is a sod to do as it means a strip down of the centre console just the remove the switch which then has to be dismantlement and the bulb replaced, (soldered in) used small 12v Christmas tree bulb as the push in ones are too long.
Now everything works BUT when I turn on the heater knob to heat and the AC cut out switch opens, the backing lights go out and the ignition (battery logo) comes on on the dash. I think it may be an earth problem but if it is, where?.
Anyone got a wiring diagram (in English) of that area?

SORTED!, it was the triple display plug part pulled when I had it all apart to change the HRW bulb.
Changing the throttle body and TPS has given me a perfect 0.42V on tick over and 4.6V WOT and the car pulls smooth as silk now, no more jerky throttle response. Just need a new test and all is good for another stint of motorway thrashing and I get my Mercedes a170 back from the wife.

OK this is doing my head in.
Failed on emmisions again!
Head skimmed and all new seals etc.
Plug colour perfect light tan.
Fuel consuption high 20mpg but not chucking it out the exhaust.???
Getting code 44 after driving 15 minuets but not when ticking over for long as you like and it clears each time I switch off.
Emmisions are very high, even without the CAT they should be lower.
All sensors (TPS, ATS, LAMBDA, CRANK POSITION, ICV, CYLINDER HEAD TEMP, ) replaced at least once.
It'as if fuel was getting into the exhaust but bypassing the combustion chamber and that is impossible,
The whole throttle body has been swapped for a good one off of an Astra C14SE and TPS volts are spot on with 0.42v at tickover.
I even popped the cover off and checked cam timing, all OK.
Performace is very good and the new/old throttle body and TPS has smoothed out the throttle response a lot, case of getting voltsgrs spot on which was impossible before.
Totaly puzzled, as is the mechnic in my local garage that was good enough to read the gasses for free.

I've absolutely no idea why it would be high tbh
It just doesn't make sense, but that engine should get 30-40 mpg which I can't figure out either if it's running fine
Imo it's time to start stripping the engine down till you find something

Sounds to me like it's drastically over fuelling!

Yeah but why, there should be backfire or black plugs, there's no indication to anything being wrong
