Look at my project and see if they are the same as my 6x9s and if so i highly recommend them.
These are the subs i was talking about http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/categor ... c-2741.htm

My current set up is :

2x JBL Comp's in the front doors
2x JBL 6x9 in a stealth shelf
1x 12" JBL GT-5 Sub
1x JBL GT Amp

but looking into having the front door packets modified so I can have 2 16.5cm speakers in each door

It's not that it makes the speaker sound better, it stops panels from flexing and vibrating as much which helps reduce distortion

The theory is that because speakers/subs move air around, to get the best sound from its fittings/surroundings the panels/box need to be stiff to help build air pressure which gives you the big bass. So as well as stopping distortion it does "appear" to help the speaker/sub sound better!

The science behind subs and sound systems is crazy!!

Back before I had kids and had a mk3 Fiesta xr2i I had a bandpass box with 2 8inch subs, uprated door speakers all powered by a small but reasonable amp that was putting out just over 133db which was alright considering it was a budget system!!
