Cheers guys yeah I messaged the seller here is his response

sorry to hear your having trouble mate but it is 1.6 to 2.0 it even says so on the box , and I also included part numbers in the auction so the buyer could match to specific engines and requirements , what engine is yours?
cam kits are not just plug and play you will have to do various work within the cylinder head to accommodate it so it works properly , you have to take into account your ignition set up etc also
an engine builder will explain further if you need it
kindest regards
danny

Definatley keep pursuing a refund mate abd do not accept a penny less. If it was under 50quid it wouldnt be too bad but do i remember you paying 200quid for this?

Just thinking here, no way a cam from a 1.6 would fit a 1.8 or 2.0 as the 1.6 is a small block GM engine and the 1.8/2.0 are big block GM engines!

Incorrectly described me thinks

I'm guessing the cam is too long?

Blackie your right there didnt think of that. A cam that fits 1.8 and 2.0 could never fit any 1.6?

You replied before I finished editing lol, soz about that.

Yea iirc the early GM 8v engines were classed as small block and big block being that the 1.2/1.3/1.4/1.6 and the 1.8/2.0 were cast from the same blocks respectively and bored out/stroked/different heads to get the cc's required.

I remember playing with my nova's and cavaliers swapping heads, manifolds and factory cams to get more power with usually little noticeable difference (back in the days when rolling roads weren't as readily available).

I had a rare mk3 cavalier 1.4L that had the same 75bhp engine as fitted to the 1.4 SR nova's and managed to get it spitting flames! Helped by a 1.6cam, carbs & mechanical fuel pump, a rotor arm with built in limiter :)

I used to study the older Haynes manuals like mad as they used to hold an awful lot more technical info than the modern variants!

I'm afraid so fella, but I'd use that as a basis for incorrect description!! Fight eBay like fcuk mate!!

I fought eBay when I had a 2.2 SRi Vec B when I bought a steering pump. It was described as fitting all 2.2 petrol vec's but didn't fit mine.

The drive where it met the cam was different, I supplied photos to eBay and they refunded me, not the seller.

I later found out from VX that my car had been fitted with some sort of weird cam and the only way I could get round it was to buy a new cam to get the pump to fit, I sold the car on instead lol

One way or another you'll get your money back!!

I agree with blackie mate its only the same idea as the 1.2 8v and the 1.2 16v u can sell stuff as just 1.2 but they are still different engines so technically its false advertising

You'll get or money back from selling the Kent cam anyway mate, your standard cam is worth money to anyone with a 1.2 8v aswell, just saying since there's a couple of 1.2 8vs on the site :P

I don't think the 1.6 cam would fit the 1.2, can't remember why, but fairly certain it doesn't fit
