washer jets not working

My mate left his bottle cap off after refilling it with water and the silly lad got grit all in his bottle....... he put some disinfectant in his bottle with some water and ran it through, it broke down all the crap and it works fine now 
....
if all fails, resort to a short patience and a hammer.. always works
