pmsl....the ctr i can half believe that it kept up but pull away..... and the evo, no chance! unless it was buggered! people need to get over the fact that a 2ltr corsa is NOT fast! nippy yes fast no! and they dont handle particularly well eather
I\'ve got a 1.4 corsa, I\'m gona think its rapid aint I?
I was in the car when racing the ctr, the bloke in the ctr asked wats in it and if he wants to race up the road. Only in 1st, 2nd and a bit in 3rd. By the time we was at the end of 2nd he was half a car in front.
The evo, I agree wasent running right, and as i said it wasent a special one, it was the lower class one. U cant forget this corsa is COMPLETLY striped out.

jofff, i ment the corsa don\'t handle to well! what ever engine is in it! ctr\'s handle a hell of a lot better IMO! 1st 2nd and a bit in 3rd is a hard way to compare a car, i have a stripped out tuned 1.6 16v, and in 1st and mid way thru 2nd there is no difference between my car and a standard 1.6 16v, NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE, time it and there is a difference! its not until you get to 3rd upwards that you notice differences! also if the ctr had a poo start etc etc! so many variables! but if you beat him then you did....
how stripped out is completely stripped out, any pics?

Plus, it wasent a \'special\' evo, a Evo2 I think...
Wasnt a special Evo
Early Evo\'s (1,2&3) despite looking abit naff nowdays are still bloody fast, at least 260bhp if its factory standard & weigh less than the new ones do so easy sub-5s to 60, 150+mph de-restricted etc etc
Theres no way a 2L corsa should keep up so it must have been f**k yes

Is it just me or does that V6 Corsa keep coming up for sale? I wouldn\'t have thought there\'s that many silver/grey V6s about so either the guy can\'t sell or each owner soon wants to get rid

I\'m not so sure. On paper it sounds immense, but I don\'t think you\'ll really benefit from the engine that\'s designed more for eating up motorway miles than 1/4 miles.

Because of the crappy chassis and poor components that make up the steering/suspension the corsa feels fast at any speed
a rover 216si will keep up with an XE corsa, my nan has one of those

hmm I can emagine a quick corsa is quick
but not against an evo
if it was smokin perhaps it was a diesel conversion
you would not have the traction in a fwd to catch 1
get somone to take you in a caterham 7 with an xe in or a cosworth in then you will know what low n fast is all about

i had a xe corsa was well quick n beat a type r,but he handling was the weakest link,no matter how much stiffing you do,it a good straight line car,but not good the b-roads,i reckon a c16xe on t/b wud be as quick
