just a case of loads of bolts all around the outside of it. look at your donor engine, you\'ll get a good idea.

went down local scraps and they recon this conversion is really hard because of all the new sensors and the conversions because orig car was 8valve. something like egr and poo. Was he chatting it?

He\'s absolutely talkin poo, its a piss easy conversion, all the sensors are on the engine, and all the plugs are on the loom. Look on ebay for a user called emosautos or emosautomotive or summin, its a breaker based in nottingham, they got a website but i cant remember the address, thats who i got my parts for the conversion off. everything needed for 400

he was moaning about i need new fuel pump and maybe tank as well. The sensors simply just plug in dont they i thought there wouldnt be a problem.

Yeah my original engine was a 1.2 8valve.
You dont need a new fuel pump or a new tank, that guy was talking sum right crap.
I am even still running standard tank, fuel pump, driveshafts, hubs, brakes etc, it really isnt that big a conversion.
Heres a list of what you will need.
Engine, loom, ecu, transponder, chip, 1.6 16v header tank (just where you put the coolant), an s-bend coolant hose from the rad to the engine.

And heres the optional extras.
Gearbox, brakes, hubs, driveshafts.

That really is about it. If i\'ve missed anything i\'ll add it when i remember but i\'m 99% certain thats it.
Dont let anyone put you off cos it really isnt that hard, and you will be well happy when your done.

yep, more bollox, all you need to do is take off the plastic casing around the steering column, so you can access the transponder around the keyhole.
The 1 thing I didnt do is fit the clocks from the 1.6 as i saw it as unecessary work, too much effort just to get a revmeter.

Just to clarify you can run an mpi fuel inject engine from my original spi pump, as on migweb poeple doing same conversions on novas and stuff say to get an mpi pump as bigger pressure is needed, so spi pump no good is this true

You need to put in an MPi pump, it\'s dea simple, i\'m putting a how to togethr at the moment.

The rest is pretty simple, if you\'re lucky the transponder will already be wired in.

It would probably be best to change the spi fuel pump to a mpi fuel pump but in my own experience, I didn\'t and my car runs fine, it gets more than enough petrol, no flat spots or anything, and i\'ve had my engine in for around 1yr now.
But as they say, best to be safe than sorry.

id prob say thats your best option tbh mate, by time you mess about with the cost of the transplant, messing about with logbooks etc. its probably going to be less hassle and just as cheap to buy a 1.6 sport or gsi.

not at all, wheres the fun and satisfaction in that, plus some people grow attached to their cars and prefer to keep them but upgrade certain parts.
