Its all dependant on the MOT come Friday if the GSi is there or not... Only thing I'm unsure about now is the rear brakes & handbrake cable, but I reckon I can get through them on an advisory... (hopefully)
Glad you got your tickets

No worries...
Anyways, little update...
Stripped the timing belt & waterpump off the block again, check make sure it wasnt fouling anywhere, was all ok. Built back up, still knocking, so now need to get the engine out & strip it down again, but do the bottom end aswell
Bought a few new bits to fit aswell.
1kg dry powder ABC fire extinguisher
Battery isolator switch
new switches & a new fusebox for the aux. wiring (fan overide, new dials when purchased/fitted, etc)
2 new tyres for the front
Now all I need to do is find a big enough drill to get the isolator switch mounted in the scuttle, and work on how/where to put the extinguisher. Thinking of between the buckets on the central turret... (there is a double-plated section which looks just perfect for it)
Oh yeah... went to Vauxhall to price up rings, bearings & new lifters... £932
fook...

Cheers Dan, but the only way it will be 'poo hot' is to burn it with one of those magical logs
Progress today:
Replaced all the crank bearings aswell as big end bearings & poo... nasty job - NEVER again!
Replaced the clutch
New crank oil seals, checked the oil pump, all fine & dandy (was replaced about 10k ago anyway)
Then found out MY radiator is bolloxed now (we only just replaced Mad Doc's the other day) now mine has died in the same way
I am NOT a serial radiator killer before anyone says (looks at Adam, Matt, Dan & Stu...)
But
Engine now runs sweet as (for the 15 seconds with the hose pissing water into the header tank for coolant) The lifters do need replacing though, they are tappy tappy tappy... So thats the next job...
Couldn't be arsed replacing the rings - if it smokes it smokes, so f**k it!
So whats next:
Fit the sports cat (100 cell)
do all 16 lifters
replace both bottom ball joints
fit new braided brake hoses
fit battery isolator switch
fit fan over-ride switch
then just a general tidy up

yeah, both halves
wonder what adam did with those pictures... they must be floating somewhere!
One more issue now... the crank pulley is fouling against the tensioner bolt... SO 2 options...
low profile tensioner bolt (as-if)
grind a little off the crank pulley (most likely)

Not really faster
just managed to put a bit of cash into it from selling the Omega
progress has come to a standstill for now... I lost the little copper washers from the braided lines, so need to source some which will fit. Reckon I'll just call up BlackDiamond and see if they will ship out some for free
Also need to get to work on the switch/gauge panel for inside the car. Not that I have any gauges yet...
