Few little updates..

I got fed up of the glovebox handle being blue, looked out of place so put the black one back on

Image

Also changed the MFD bulbs over, had to have a fiddle with the bulbs and flattened the contacts out with a screw driver to make them work

just need to do the speedo ones and the ones for the little unit where you turn cars lights on and off

should have some more stuff to update soon as theirs quite a few bits on the way to me

few more little updates - finished dash lights today

this was the car when i started this morning - freezing

taking it all off..

standard bulbs

Image

blue bulbs in - once again like mfd all the bulbs needed the contacts flattening to make them work

Image

then waited till it was dark to get some pics and see how it looks

Image

Image

the only bulbs not done are the headlight/foglight switch ones as pictured below, heard these ones need soldering ? took the vent off and unscrewed everything but the unit also seemed sealed.. might just buy ones thats already done from ebay.

Also while it was light i adjusted bonnet to make it sit better with help from my dad, not that noticeable on pics but looks a lot better in person

Ah sweet :) same as the primer i guessing? All from halfords did you use a plastic primer before you used the primer?

Just use plastic primer! It's the same as normal basically only it has more flex in it I do believe. And the speedo looks sweet! [emoji106]

I think using normal primer over plastic primer would defeat the purpose lad.

I spray cars for a living and we sand it down if its bumpy so its smoother then plastic prime then either 2k primer or wet and wet primer.. But so that way if it reacts in the primer you know it wont mess the finish of the paint up :)

Little update - The Opel grill I bought just before Christmas arrived this morning along with a boot lock with the Opel badge on it.

Image

The boot locks paint is pretty bad (pealing around the edges) but I only wanted it for the badge anyway, only issue is the vauxhall badge on my colour coded boot lock it did is super glued on so I doubt I'll be able to remove it without damaging boot locks paint so I will probably have to wait till some nice weather to spray another one before I can put the badge on.

Anyway got the grill straight on ...

Will be getting some genuine Opel mud flaps next :)
