right, my strut brace came today, its a sparco one, but because i have my powerbox fitted to my 1.4 16v im going to have to modify it slightly, theirs one bolt that holds the power cap on that sticks up a little to high, so im going to have to cut a bit out of the brace tube, and weld in a sort of indent, but i have smashed it with the hammer slightly to put an indentation in it, i'l file a bit of the top of the bolt aswell try to make a bit more clearance, but its a pain in the ass!! but its the only way that i can see of doing it without having to cut the whole thing up and make a complete new one is a sort of S shape around the power cap which i dont really want. heres a simple photo, theirs bolts across the top and its catching on the left one which is stopping it going down to meet the right hand side strut top.

anyway onto a more serious note what colour should i paint my cam cover? i was thinking arden blue to go along with the body, but then i was going to make a plug cover aswell somehow.

right a partial update, iv managed to make my strut brace fit! finally!! the bolt on the left i had to get the hammer out to re-shapen the strut brace slightly, and then i just had to file all the bolts of the power box half down so i could get some clearance, i now have a couple of mm clearance. not sure if its enough but when i got the cam cover on i'l have a look at the clearance when the engines running. but here you go. oh and the cam cover is being painted arden blue as we speak
should get photos of that aswell this afternoon.

right, here we go then i finally have it put back togeather, just trying to tidy it up a little now, and hide it all and make some space in the engine bay, but its gonna be hard as its quite full
plus id like to fit a oil catch tank because now i have the power box i have no pipe going from the cam cover to the intake manifold so its just open to atmosphere and covering the gearbox in oil
so id like to add something to catch the waste oil

i might make it out of aluminium, but then i could always vinyl wrap it.
