when i saw this i was suprised as to how little damage the front bumper seems to have taken :) shouldnt be long tho before its back on the road, iv got some depo's home made if your intrested in a set btw means as your missing a light...

Yeah your right actually, odd bonnet made from steel n that's trashed yet bumper is fine! All that happend on bumper is paint come off abit and the 2 side mountings have been snapped off! Glad it hasn't smashed bumper in tbh and yeahh ill let u know bout depo's pal, both my headlights have ripped of the brackets too

progress so far is, i straightend out the panel under bonnet and straightend bonnet enough soo it shuts! also repaired headlights, they'll do tempory.. next is onto repairing the GSi bumper :) probs be having new alloys wrapped in fresh new tyres aswell and new track rod ends n get tracked up. also on the look out for a decent x16xe 8) will get pics soon n keep all updated.

just a few progress pics really of the repair..

new mounts made on bumper, metal plate held in my countersunk and bit of glue. filling over the screw aswell

tested the new mounts and they're pretty good n solid, one saved gsi bumper...

and then bumper back off, being preped for respray, thats all for now :)

quite alot done over weekend! first when to harveys (PRICER) friday! brought his cav slabs and had some 100mm rear springs aswell

GSi arches sprayed and GSi bumper fully repaired n resprayed

finally car all put together, black bonnet temporary! looking more normal now :D

The black bonnet don't look to bad on there, matches up with the roof well!

yeahh it growing on me tbh! not best condition bonnet either. cars still a little out of shape at front aswell :(

I must admit I painted my bonnet on my old brocade black when the laquer peeled while I was waiting for my new brocade bonnet to turn up and I started to like it more in black than brocade! good work so far though mate :)

cheers peps :) yeahhh 90% of people have said it look better with black bonnet! im not so sure myself yet... is starting to grow on me thou :lol:

small update, just been at work on the cav slabs really and brought a welder so cage may be going in soon...
used paint remover to remove layers of paint...

then rubbed down was enough paint was removed..

and i need to sort out camber and tracking before new tyres go on as heres what its done...
