Few New Bits recently;

New Suspension - Bilstein SHocks/Apex -40mm Springs

Quickshift Linkage Piece

New Brakes...

WP Pro 292mm Brake Conversion

Image

(Cat not included!)

Image

The kit retains the OE 256mm Calipers, on new Carrier Brackets made by WP Pro themselves specifically for the Corsa.

Image

The Discs are 292x21mm - Cross-Drilled and Grooved - The Discs are designed to be run 'backwards' to normal, with there being drilled vents at the end of each groove, so that hot gasses/water can be channelled into these and then dissipated through the discs normal vents and around the Hub - they look used, but the disc has been machined to ensure they are running true, and to aid with the bedding in a bit (according to the paperwork supplied with the kit)

Image

The Pads are of a compound that WP Pro describe as being suitable for Fast Road/Light Motorsport use - So I guess they would be similar to a hybrid of EBC's Green/Red Stuff offerings,

Everything is Brand New, and got these on eBay for a bargain price compared to their RRP - I paid around 1/3 of it!

Hopefully they clear the 15" Wheels - I'm hoping to see if I can get them on this weekend, if the weather holds out...

Old 256mm Setup (After upgrading from 236mm);

Image

Standard Issue Old & New Comparison 256-292mm;

Image

All fitted;

Image

Wheel on (It fits!);

Image

Oh. Hang on;

Image

Bollocks. Its just touching;

Image

Double Bollocks;

Image

Still, tidy looking setup, straight easy fit with no hassle atall - think the braking effort may be biased to the front a tad though...;

So... Contingency plan for clearing the brakes is underway - watch this space!

Well.

Sorted out the clearance issue today.

The solution?

16" Team Dynamics Motorsport Alloys

Also, being a different Offset, they stick out a bit more, which gives it a slightly wider stance/track - might improve the handling a little...

And it looks like I'll keep them white, it just 'works' IMO.

It does mean bye bye to the Cav wheels though... :(

Nope was hitting the insied of the rim, spacers wouldn't have made a difference.

I don't mind though, quite like the TD's i've now got.

Got home and it was still light, so out I went armed with a big Flat Screwdriver and a Mallet...

Didn't get it all done as light faded fast, but took out a good couple of kilos worth so far and bagged it up...

Will have a fair bit more to chip off once the Carpet comes out too!
