Sadly I won't be doing anything on the car tonight. Still stuck at work :sad:

I did however speak to the fella that's doing all my suspension parts today. All he had left to do today was to make the new brackets for the anti-roll bar. He will drop everything off at my home tomorrow night, then the work can proceed again (hopefully I don't work late again). Really want to get the car standing on its wheels again. It's a bit nervy working in the car while it's on tressles. The thing is so bloody light now that it's stripped out it's scary. I can lift the nose off the tressles by hand lol

I bet its light on them mate as the they shell weighs virtually nothing so at least if its back on all fours u can work on it not worrying

Got the suspension parts today

Couldn't help myself - started putting it in. Feels good to actually put stuff on the car, rather than taking it off



Here are the poly'd shock mounts. Don't know if it will be a gain in terms of handling, but at least I know they won't fall apart anytime soon

Now it may look on some of the images like things are not tightened proper... Well, that's because they aren't tightened proper :lol: . My bottle of threadlock is AWOL... Will first go buy a bottle before I tighten the whole lot. I know some folks don't believe in the stuff, but I just feel better knowing it's there, especially on suspension bits

Monroe are a good brand shock but I run with blisteins for tarmac, they cost a bit more but there stiff as fućk and it's awesome handling imo

I rally though and have never done track races so I've no idea what setup is best

Also run poly bushed top mounts and don't know if it is placebo effect but think it feels better

What sort of arb is that? Mines a home made jobie but I'd like a proper hardened steel one

Running the Monroe's as the rules state that we may only use Monroe, Gabriel or Armstrong. Basically the stuff they sell at an exhaust shop. We must also use model-specific shocks - can't use a Corsa C shock in a Corsa B... Sucks

The ARB I had made at a local spring works. They did all the poly work as well as the springs. Dirt cheap if I might add - cost me ZAR2300 for everything... That's about £125

That's a pretty shít rule tbh but I suppose a track isn't as bumpy as road rallys so it doesn't need to be as stiff

I don't have a spring manufacturer close and the exhaust place doesn't have a small enough plate to bend the size I'd need

About the rear arb, could you try convince them that Vauxhall had them so therefore you should be allowed one, it's technically not true but they won't know :lol: I'll be honest though, I normally have to go through inspection twice because of thinking like that

Then the other bits are to relocate the the oil filter. Will also add an oil cooler while I'm busy with the piping

With this in place, you can place the oil filter anywhere you want. It also enables you to fit an oil cooler much easier - if you try to use a sandwich adapter on the Corsa, the filter protrudes way too far for it to work

Had to be at the dentist at 08h00 this morning, so I quickly took out the rear axle and dropped it off at the spring works to have poly bushes made, as well as an anti-roll bar. Showed the guy the stup as made by Whiteline, and asked him to make it similar. Should get it by the end of next week


Doubt I'll be able to work on the car this weekend due to work... Sucks...
