you doing engine build too then?
Not doin a rebuild with this engine but its gettin stripped down to be cleaned an painted before it goes back in.
Once this one is done i want to get myself another 16xe to strip down an rebuild with new internals :)

yesterday ill cleaned my pistons and the grooves for rings pretty much all day. took ages to clean the grooves so i could fit my rings. got there in the end thou and also had a meet with nath and paige of here on my lunch hour. was good see them again and also got tigra scuttle from them :)

yeah mate, it worked well for the groove for bottom ring, but brush didnt really get into the other 2 grooves so had to carry on with the wet n dry for those grooves haha.

did you try the snapping of the old ring and use it as a scraper in the groove? or did you want them really clean lol

no mate, i took old rings of at home then took the pistons to college and i relised when i got there i need old rings to clean them, so had to it with the wet n dry :meh:

yeah it might have tbf. i had one but not with a small enough bit! gaps really small for the top 2 rings

just made small order, just some new rod bolts and seals for dizzy and new oil cap. came to £46 of qed (damn rod bolts expensive). guna try find time to hone out my block next week then once rod bolts come i can start bottom end rebuild :)
